November 22-23, 2016: Dr. Patrick Albert Palmieri, President of the Asociación Peruana de Enfermería - APE, (Peruvian Nurses Association) spoke at the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) International Centenary Conference. This was a unique international nursing event which will reflect on the past 100 years of nursing and help plan for the next 100, whilst celebrating the RCN’s centenary. Health care leaders from around the world delivered keynote speeches and five core themes cover a broad scope of topics, from technology and innovation to society, communities and relationships. Dr. Palmieri spoke about the continuing contribution made by Peruvian nurses to lead the national quality and safety agenda to achieve international hospital accreditation.
Throughout the conference, Dr. Palmieri visited with numerous political and nursing leaders from the United Kingdom. Below from left to right photos, Dr. Palmieri had the opportunity to speak with Cecilia Anim (the President of the Royal College of Nursing); Baroness Audrey Caroline Emerton (Member of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom); Maureen Bisognano (the Past President of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement); and Jane Cummings (the Chief Nursing Officer for England).
